You cannot catch it until it decides on its own it wants to be caught. Why? It’s bigger, it’s stronger, it’s faster.

You have to break it mentally before you can catch it physically. So, you don’t confront it head-on. Rather, you approach it from its shoulder. Why? Because even though the horse sees you approaching — rope in hand, it allows you to corner it.

At first it will reject you — probably even run away. So, you remain patient — knowing when to apply pressure and make it feel trapped, then release when it glares at you.

At this point the horse still believes it’s free, until it realises it’s working a lot harder for this freedom.

Eventually, it submits to you and resigns to the belief that it cannot get away. So, finally it’s caught!
